Here you can find information on the classes I took during my time at Clemson. These class samples are divided into 4 sections: German, Culture, Business, and Other.
**Courses with asterisks were taken when studying abroad.**
GERMAN
GER1010 - Beginner German 1
Introduction to basic German grammar rules, pronunciation, numbers, letters, and forming simple sentences. We learned basic sentence structure and placed emphasis on verb conjugations in the present tense. This was an introduction to mostly simple cases (nominative and accusative)
GER2010 - Intermediate German 1
We introduced more complex grammar rules and more advanced cases such as dative and genitive. We worked on more complex sentence building, adding in conjunctions. Past tense and different verb conjugations were introduced. Introduced to modal verbs and how/ when to use them.
GER2020 - Intermediate German 2
Continuation of building grammar, but also practiced speaking more often. We often read short stories or listened to and translated song lyrics. We continued to learn more about genitive and dative cases, along with the others.
GER 309 - German Conversation 2
We did a little bit of grammar practice, but it was mostly speaking and conversation. We practiced listening exercises, and we would often pretend to be characters or be in specific situations in our speaking exercises.
**GER 305 - German Composition 1
Improvement on knowledge and expressive capabilities of German language through analysis of written texts, reading summaries, and emphasis of grammar and vocabulary, as well as class tours in Lüneburg to use what we were learning outside of class.
**GER 306 - German Composition 2
Continuation of GER 305 in text analysis, writing and reading exercises, as well as emphasis on grammar skills and vocabulary.
**WLL495 - Advanced German 1 - SA
Continuation of heavy grammar, reading, and writing exercises of more complex German such as adjective declination, passive, and conjunctive 2, as well as vocab emphasis. Discussed topics such as love, countries, and travel.

GER 3160 - German Int’l Business 1
We covered basic and foundational concepts within business such as economics and finance as well as looking into foundational knowledge of Germany and European Union business. We also presented a research project of our own, as I research on the Consumer Market of Germany and its relevance to the EU and the World market.
GER 3060 - German Short Story
I am currently taking this in my last semester. We are focused on the theme of “Love and Life”, looking into short stories about self-love, relationships, and family. We also place emphasis on building grammar more complex skills, as well as continuously reviewing skills learned in previous classes.
GER3150 - Technical German
I am currently taking this in my last semester. This class is focused on technical terms and vocabulary in German. We are covering many STEM- related topics such as engineering, chemistry, math, geometry, material science, electronics, etc.

CULTURE
GER3400 - German Culture
We analyzed many early time periods of German culture and literature. We read a couple stories and watched plays leading up to the early 1900s. We also practiced some grammar, but it was more discussion based.
GER 4980 - German Business Culture
I took this course twice as an independent study. In my first semester, select alumni from LAIB/ modern languages majors to talked to us about their field and experiences. The second semester, we were paired with a mentor and met with them a couple times throughout the semester to ask questions and gain advice on different topics such as language learning, university advice, the business field, and study abroad. It was a great experience for networking within my first couple years in the major.
**PSC405 - 1933-1945: Culture, Society, and Politics in Nazi Germany
We learned about the history of Germany's upcoming and major events leading up to the Nazi Regime, ending with its dissolution. We also went on class tours around Lüneburg that reflected the same time period we were studying in class, such as statues or significant buildings.
BUSINESS
MATH 1020 & MATH 2070 - Business Calculus 1 & 2
Introduced foundational concepts of calculus relating to business and economics. Learned foundations in concepts such as derivatives, determinants, optimization, and rates of change applied to real-world business and economic situations.

ACCT 2020 - Financial Accounting
Introduction to accounting principles such as debits and credits, financial statements, interpreting financial data, cash flow, balance sheets, income statement, and decision-making after analyzing spreadsheets
ECON 2110 - Microeconomics
Foundations of economics such as supply and demand, consumer behavior factors affecting economic outcomes, and structures to understand how people interact with and make decisions in the economy from a personal perspective to firms.
ECON 2120 - Macroeconomics
Expansion of microeconomics to provide foundations in the economic factors of GDP vs GNP, inflation, unemployment, economic growth, and role of fiscal and monetary policy in financial markets.
ECON 3100 - International Economy
Analyzed international trade theories, their history, and current role in the international economy. Used both macro- and microeconomic principles to apply understanding of globalization in economic growth and policies, including a personal research project on common international issues, mine being how the German market and economy plays a role globally.
MGT 2010 - Principles of Management
Foundations to core management such as planning, organizing, leading and controlling and studied the role of leadership and organizational behavior. Emphasized the role of management in most contexts in business and organizations.
**MGT 485 - Business Ethics & Sustainability
Introduction of basic business ethics principles, focused on European Union laws, but also ISO and other international standards. Analyzed what it means/ looks like for a business or nation to be “ethical” and “sustainable”. We chose a principle for a presentation within the ESG, as I did research to gain a basic understanding of the Social Framework.
MGT 3030 - Global Business
Examined business foundations and practices in many fields including economic, political, social and cultural, marketing, and accounting perspectives.
MKT 3010 - Principles of Marketing
Introduction to marketing principles and applying it to real world business environments. Focused on the core principles such as planning, pricing, placement, and distribution.
MKT 3010 - Consumer Behaviour
Analyses on how consumers interact with marketing efforts and make decisions based on psychological, social, and cultural influences within marketing. Heavily based on planning, pricing, and placement core principles.
MKT 4270 - International Marketing
Expansion on marketing principles and how they are influenced on an international level, including economic, culture, social, and political factors.
MKT 3320 - Digital Marketing
Foundational marketing in digital context covering topics such as SEO, GEO, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, consumer behavior, digital marketing platforms, and types of digital marketing.
PCID 3040 - Business Communication
Review basic and foundational English grammar skills, as well as introduce more complex rules for business writing. Emphasis on cover letter/résumé writing, memos, letters, reports, and presentations, in addition to tailoring our writing to a specific audience.
LAIB 1270 - Intro to LAIB
Introductory course to cover requirements for the Language and International Business major, such as classes, study abroad, language portfolio, and exit exam.
LAIB 4000 - Internship Report
I interned with Häring Precision in Lavonia, GA, in the Summer of 2025 as a Marketing Intern. They are a German automotive precision parts manufacturer and operate as a Business-to-Business company.
NPL 3000 - Nonprofit Leadership
The whole semester was building our own nonprofit organization, consisting of many projects that helped us build our complete final project and presentation that could be a realistic organization.

POSC1010 - American National Gov’t
Foundational history and knowledge of the American government such as early history, formation, and modern day structures of American government and politics. Basic overview of how the government operates on the national level compared to state and local level.
POSC 1020 - International Relations
Foundational class in understanding how each nation interacts with each other, both in theory and in practice. Focused on different levels of analysis of international relations, institutions, law, and policies.
COMM 2500 - Public Speaking
Study of communication along with a series of speeches covering different topics such as introductions, ceremonial, informative, persuasive, interviews and group speeches.
OTHER
REL1010 - Intro to Religion
Foundations of theology and religion in beliefs, practices, major actors, culture, and expressions of that religion. Introduced basics in history of religions, current practices, and view of life and death. Included watching the TV series, Lost, for class discussion and comparison to religious contexts.
REL3020 - New Testament Literature
I am taking this in my last semester at Clemson. It is a survey on the history and foundations of the New Testament, as we read and analyze the context and history of 25 out of 27 books in the New Testament.
